Woman’s Missionary Union
Woman’s Missionary Union is an organization begun in 1888 that strives to challenge believers to understand and be involved in the mission of God. Union Grove’s WMU was organized in January of 1949.The WMU Director is Norma Howard. There are two groups, the Circle of Hope that meets the first Monday night of each month at 7:00, and the Covenant Word Group, that meets the second Monday at 1:00. There is also Mission Friends for ages two through kindergarten, and GA’s for ages 1st through 6th grades that meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00.
These ladies do many mission projects throughout the year. They have pancake suppers for the Annie Armstrong Offering, Lottie Moon Offering, their College Fund, and the church’s REAP involvement in Peru. They also support our church’s International Missionaries, John and Jenny McLamb. Some other projects include the New South River Baptist Association’s Beatitude Houses and Toy Story. Also, they have Food for Families, Book Bags for Children and other local projects. They also support a child in the Philippines through MISSION OF MERCY.
The WMU invites any lady to come and be a part of this wonderful organization and learn more about mission involvement.
